I first met Eve 31 years ago. I had just arrived in Oxford and was a junior staff nurse on the ENT ward on which Eve worked. From day 1 we clicked and Eve took me under her wing and showed me the ropes and taught me what true, compassionate and caring nursing is. If I could have been half as good as she was I would be happy I remember thinking. I think (possibly in an attempt to match make), she introduced me to Alan. I was going off to Australia and so was he and I genuinely think Eve thought he would be safer travelling with me and my co-traveller. Oh how wrong she was!!! Don't worry Alan, what happens on tour stays on tour!!! I will always remember Eves infectious laugh, her great sense of humour and believe I was incredibly privileged to have known her. My thoughts and love are with Eve's family and friends and I will be thinking of you all as you gather to celebrate her wonderful life. Loads of love and happy memories Midge xxxx
